The renovation of this 45-square-meter apartment in Athens focuses on maximizing perceived volume through strategic spatial organization and material continuity. To expand the compact footprint, the intervention utilizes spatial techniques that blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, as well as private and public zones. The layout adopts an open-plan format anchored by a central inox-clad volume. Positioned along a lateral axis, this metallic core houses the bathroom and kitchen facilities while reflecting natural light deep into the floor plan. A mirrored pivot door enables spatial reconfiguration, blurring the boundary between the interior and the cityscape when closed, and facilitating transversal views when opened.

Perceptual strategies are used to amplify the sense of space and extend light into the deepest areas of the apartment, particularly the entrance. A restrained colour palette is carefully calibrated to promote visual continuity, reducing fragmentation and allowing the interior to read as a unified field. The inox-clad volume reflects and redistributes natural light, drawing brightness further inward. The mirrored boundary functions as a reversible spatial device: when open, it allows a fully continuous open-plan layout; when closed, it divides the apartment into two zones while reflecting the surrounding space, maintaining the illusion of openness and visual continuity.
